“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only…..” James 1:22
Thank you friends and family for enabling Jonathan and me to be “doers” of the Word here in the Dominican Republic! God is giving us opportunities to be Jesus to the people in our lives here. He is breaking our hearts for individuals and He is expanding our Spanish. Although I feel limited to share many things because of the language barrier, God is showing me alternative ways to minister. One way is through taking baked sweets to neighbors and being “present” in people’s lives. I pray that my Dominican friends see Jesus in my eyes and my smile as I spend time with them. God is also showing me that prayer is my biggest ministry here and that it will make the most impact on this city for years to come. That means that you guys in the states are a part of ministry in a big way here! Please pray for the people of San Juan and that there would be a generation of Dominicans that rise up and live for God. Pray that people’s view of Christianity wouldn’t be a list of “dos and don’ts” and that they would know the acceptance, freedom, and love there is in God. Pray for the churches here to be filled with the Holy Spirit and that they would be the lighthouse of the city. Pray for the people that are lonely, hurting, and lacking hope. Pray that God’s kingdom would come to this city and that it would be a city characterized by the peace of God!
We realize most things we pray for San Juan we could and should pray for each city in the world. We are thankful that God has chosen us to be prayer warriors and His hands and feet in this city for this year. People all around us need to be shown and told about Jesus and the love of the Father and we are thankful that it can be our full time job and focus.
Thank you for partnering with us in this ministry amidst your ministries in the states!
Thanks so much for the comment on Dave’s BLOG! I’m so excited for yall & for the amazing experiences you are getting to share- and just so you know, i feel like God really moves on my heart through pictures- sometimes a certain photograph can speak more to me than all the songs or sermons i could here- (excluding God’s Word, of course- no replacement for that!:)) but, I thought that might be encouraging for Carrie- to know that there is definately ministry in photography!!! Whether it is a book of pictures, or just one paired with a certain scripture- I think photography can take people to places they’ve never been able to experience & show them characteristics of God they’ve never experienced. I miss ya’ll & am praying for you!
The Brocards are praying for you!!!
Keep up the good work and the JOY in serving!
We love you both!

Keep sharing what you are learning – it encourages all of us.
I know the newness of life in D.R. is probably wearing off at this point, yet I am inspired by the freshness in your Spirit towards the people and your mission. As we approach Thanksgiving, I am reminded how grateful I am to be your sister(in-law). You are a blessing in my life.
