“Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere…” Psalm 84:10

A week and a half ago Carrie and I were blessed to have both of our parents come and visit us.
We met them at a resort where we stayed for three days.
It was a great time of catching up, relaxing, and soaking in the
Caribbean sun.
After the three days at the beach we brought them to

San Juan (where we live).
  For 24 hours they experienced

San Juan.
We ate at two of our favorite restaurants, they went to the open market with us, and they were able to meet and spend time with our Dominican friends.
It was truly a blessing to have them come down to visit.
They are such an awesome support and encouragement to both of us.
We love them so very much!

So, this past Thursday morning we were back in the swing of things.
Our vacation was over and it was back to work.
That first day back from vacation is always hard, but God taught us something that Thursday morning.
The verse that he brought to our minds was Psalm 84:10 “Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere…”
Carrie and I had just spent three days lying on a
Caribbean beach; a place where millions of people would love to be, a place of relaxation, a place of peace.
And do not get me wrong, it was all of those things.
It was an amazing time, but as we worshipped God through music He let me know the simple truth that is told in Psalm 84.
We can search in this world for things and for places that will fill us up and give us peace, but truly our satisfaction can only be found in Him.
It doesn’t matter where you are.
Whether you are on a beach in the Caribbean or in a cubicle in downtown

Atlanta, God is there with you and He desires to commune with you.
He wants to give you His peace, His love, and His rest this day.

You two really are an inspiration. What a great idea to have your two sets of parents come at the same time. Great to see Mary and Ogden in the photos.
May the Lord just totally bless your socks off…socks everywhere.
